Scott Shirai's Bio
Scott joined Nurse Family Partnership in March 2009 and brings with him more than 30 years of successful experience as an entrepreneur and change agent in the non-profit and for-profit sectors. He's received national acclaim for leadership, innovation, fundraising and volunteerism.

Scott was previously Vice President, Donor Relations at Mile High United Way. While there, he was honored with an Innovator's Award at the White House three consecutive years for fundraising, research, and marketing; as well as his work in successfully restarting the New Orleans Combined Federal Campaign after the city was crippled by Hurricane Katrina.

Before moving to Denver in 1999, Scott administered one of Hawaii's largest corporate foundations. He crafted and implemented its first strategic plan to refocus giving and aligned volunteer activities with the corporate mission and goals resulting in the organization being named Outstanding Corporation by the National Society of Fundraising Executives.

Scott is passionate about giving back to the community. He was honored with the Jefferson Award in 1989 from the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper and the Paul M. Lund Award in 2000 from the international Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for outstanding volunteerism. Scott is active in the community and most recently served as chair of the board of directors for Colorado Public Television and chair of PRSA's prestigious College of Fellows. Since 2004, he has been an Executive Mentor to MBA candidates at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business.
